  • Do I need to submit a graduate application?

    Yes, all graduates must submit the online graduation application. The April 1 deadline has passed, but you can still submit your application through the end of the term. (Please note that your name will not be printed in the commencement program due to the printing deadline. Graduate applications submitted by Thursday, April 23 will be recognized in the virtual ceremony.

  • Do I need to RSVP for commencement?

    No, graduates do not need to RSVP due to this year’s in-person event being canceled. However, we do invite graduates to watch the virtual commencement ceremony.

  • Will I receive a cap and gown?

    Due to the virtual commencement, graduates will not receive a cap and gown this year. We are coordinating a congratulatory packet that will be mailed to graduates, so please update your information in eServices to ensure you receive it.

  • Will I receive special designation cords?

    A committee is working on a plan for students to receive their respective designation cords for Honors, PTK, TRIO, and/or Veterans. We will share more information in the coming weeks. 

  • How will I receive my diploma?

    Graduates will receive an email mid-June, after final grades and graduation requirements have been verified, with more information about receiving their diploma.


    Congratulations on nearing your academic goals! In order to graduate, you must complete the online graduation application and follow-up survey during the final semester of your program by December 1 (fall semester) or April 1 (spring semester).

  • What's the difference between graduation and commencement?

    Graduation is the completion of all degree or certificate requirements as recorded on an official transcript. Students must submit a Graduation Application to the Registration and Records Office in order to have their record reviewed for program completion.

    Commencement is the ceremony to celebrate the completion of a degree or certificate. Students who apply for graduation are invited to participate in the Commencement Ceremony.
